Lynchburg Stained Glass

Protective storm covering protect your stained glass investment on several levels.

First, Storm coverings protect older stained glass windows against leakage. Stained glass tends to be more susceptible to leakage with age. Quality storm coverings are a cost effective alternative to major stained glass restoration, especially of the windows are generally in good structural condition.

Second, we use laminated glass. Laminated glass is an impact resistant clear protective covering material which will not discolor with age. It is an excellent protective shield from both weather and vandalism.

Third, our covering system is vented to reduce heat and moisture buildup between the storm covering and the stained glass. It is essential that this space be able to breath. Coverings that are not vented tend to promote premature deterioration of the stained glass lead matrix (due to heat buildup) and rot in the window sills (due to moisture buildup).
