Gothic Influence Stained Glass Windows
Gothic Influence windows are often identified by their intricately painted borders of towering spires. This defining characteristic is often referred to as “castle work” for its resemblance to medieval architecture. Borders often feature pale glass (nearly white) adorned with painted detail and highlighted with silver stain, a technique which adds tones of gold color to the surface of the glass.
Although the intricacy of the glazing is intermediate, the quality of the painted detail is exquisite. Gothic Influence windows typically feature religious scenes or saints.
Gothic Influence stained glass windows are typically crafted with translucent mouth blown-type antique stained glass. Each piece of glass receives some degree of hand painted detail.
